Abstract

With the aim of evaluating the values of metabolizable energy apparent and corrected for nitrogen balance, the coefficients of digestibility the dry matter and crude protein of dextrin for rations pellets, as well as the effects of this additive on the on performance and histology intestine in broiler chickens, will be conducted two experiments. The first will consist of a digestibility trial, the second by a performance test. Experiment I (digestibility) will be divided into two stages, according to bird age (22 to 25 days and 39 to 42 days old). In each phase will be used 140 chicks from Cobb, totaling at the end of the first test 280 birds. For the two stages of this experiment will be used a randomized design with three treatments and seven replications of five birds each, for the determination of metabolizable energy values and the nutrients coefficients of metabolization of dextrin. The treatments have the inclusion of 10, 20 and 30% dextrin in substitution of basal diet. Experiment II (performance test) will run for 42 days and will use 912 male broiler chickens of Cobb. This experiment will use a randomized design with four treatments and six replicates of 38 birds each. The treatments will consist of inclusion levels of dextrin (0, 1, 2, and 3%). Weekly, will evaluate the performance variables and litter moisture, and at 10 days old will be removed from two birds per experimental unit for assessment of intestinal histomorphometry and intestinal pH. At the end of the trial period will determine the scores for callus feet. (AU)
