Abstract

Integrated into the Project "Establishment of the Municipal Atlas of Ourinhos and Teacher Education Tutors: Proposals for the Study of Locality, " in the search line in the line of research in Cartographic Representation and Education: Municipal School Atlas of the Research Group on Geo and Cartography in Geography - (GeoCart), UNESP, the Scientific Initiation Project has claim to insert the language of film as more of a procedure for reading and reflection of space in the Municipal School Atlas Ourinhos. In this conception, supported by the National Curriculum in interdisciplinary Geography, History and Environment (cross cutting theme) from Atlas to bring knowledge about the location, arousing the feeling of belonging and understanding of the dynamics and the process of organizing the space in which the student is inserted, the language of film has the advantage of involving moving images and sounds in a tangle of meanings through visual reading. In a society of images, fast and comprehensive information, the school needs to appropriate technological means of using them for the education of citizens more critical to reflect on the surroundings and to understand the active part of the proceedings, for such the use of film language becomes an important tool to stimulate the production of knowledge. The proposed language film in the Municipal School Atlas Ourinhos place to study is based on concepts of geography (space, place, landscape, flow, dynamics), mainly in Cartography (location, performance, mental maps) and on concepts of Cinema (location, style, flat screenplay) by analyzing their convergences, language and possibilities within the school environment in order to innovate and contribute to a teaching-learning process more dynamic.
