Abstract

The current model of credit transactions being processed through the plastic cards has several limitations, mainly related with the possibilities of losses and frauds. Despite of this and the fact that the technologies used in this process are very obsolete, them still being presented as the most viable due to their relation cost-benefit. Currently, the payments through credit cards are leaders in the payments of conventional purchases and in those realized in the internet and the plastic cards still being used in a great number of transactions modalities, such as: access control, allegiance, debit, telephonic cards, etc. With the improvement of the embarked mobile technologies, over all, in the cellular devices, and the popularization of the use of these technologies, the great chance to review this technological model appears, substituting it for another one safer and comfortable. With the use of these technologies, the use of the cards becomes dispensable and at the same time that the processes of authenticity recognition can go very beyond the simple signature check, being able to still include the passwords check, voice and image standards recognition, amongst others, becoming the environment very safer. The main objective of this project is related with the development of a simple and secure architecture allows that the diffusion of the use of mobile technologies in the processing of credit transactions and electronic commerce. With this system, instead of using the plastic cards in the payments, the user will provide the credit authorization by cellular to the establishment (thought credit administrator or bank) that will receive an official notification printed from this authorization. The developed architecture will have to possess some basic characteristics: to be of simple use, flexible and versatile, operating in any type of device, to be based on open architecture with multiple layers, operate in the reality of the current communication systems (narrow signal band with different types of technology and different technological stages), compatible with the current structure of the credit administrators systems, safe and robust against imperfections, portable for the great list of equipment and available technologies and have compatible costs. This project seems a scene where the user, for his purchases, connects himself by cellular, or another mobile device, with his credit operator or bank and, informing its code, the establishment code and the operation’s value validate the transaction. At this moment, several authenticity tests of the user are carried out and, in few seconds, after necessary processing, the operator returns the authorization code in the screen o the system and sends the voucher to the lender of services. Everything without using physical card and inside of a safe connection. To attempt to these objectives, it will be necessary that architecture of mobile devices to execute processing transactions have to be secure and trustworthy, guaranteeing the security of the operations, as much for the users as for affiliated establishments and credit operators. For that, it will be necessary to use several mechanisms and combined technologies, such as digital signals and images processing and recognition, data compression e transmission and cryptography, amongst others, guaranteeing agility to the process and security in the transactions. With these characteristics, the Credicell will have the credentials to substitute, with advantages, the plastic cards in several applications, from the processing of credit to the accesses control and monitoring, facilitating the users’ life of these transaction types improving the security and trustworthiness for all the involved agents, from the final users to the credit processors and the establishments.
