The musical rewriting in different historical periods

Abstract

The project aims to study how the concept of rewriting has been applied to music, watching in different historical and singular compositional poetics. In addition to a study that will seek to deepen the concept of rewriting and its theoretical implications, observe their ramifications in the analysis of works by composers such as J. S. Bach, W. A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven, F. Liszt, M. Ravel, Igor Stravinsky, Luciano Berio, György Kurtag, Bernd Alois Zimermann, George Crumb, and Brazilian composers Willy Correa de Oliveira and Silvio Ferraz.Thus, through the research of musical texts from various historical periods and authors, will try to build as broad a sampling of tools and procedures for rewriting that can be directly related and apllied to musical compositional practice.Through this project aims to give continuity to the candidate's master's research, which aimed to define the concept of rewriting the music of the XX and XXI, as well as expand the literature available in Portuguese on the application of the concept to music, taking as base their development in other areas, especially in literature.
