Abstract

The research aimed at developing new therapeutic agents, through the synthesis of more effective drugs for the treatment of inflammatory processes and several other diseases such as malaria, Chagas disease, dengue, yellow fever is of great importance for improving public health. In this context, the synthesis of chiral heterocyclic compounds has been emphasizing the development of new active principles. Therefore, it is proposed to prepare a collection of chiral heterocyclic compounds. The structural characteristics of compounds to be synthesized will first be determined through molecular modeling and their possible use in the treatment of inflammatory processes will be studied by molecular docking. These studies aim to predict the interaction of these compounds with enzymes related to inflammatory processes and some related to the illnesses mentioned above. Thus, an oriented synthesis can be accomplished. For the synthesis of optically active compounds, we intend to use organocatalysis as a tool. Currently, this methodology has becoming of great importance since it allows performing reactions under conditions that characterize the principles of green chemistry. The heterocyclic compounds synthesized in enantiomerically enriched form will have their structures, as well as its absolute configuration determined by X-ray diffraction. Additionally, these compounds should have its biological potential evaluated.
