Sociability network and relational web of Bolivian migrants: the constitution of a circulatory territory

Abstract

This project aims to understand the formation of the travel circuits by Bolivian's migrants that works on the sector of textile production in Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires. The research assumes that there are an intense migrant flow that moves between both cities and that these people do not seek to take root in the destination, but they intend to return to their country of origin. The notion of /circulatory territory/ (Tarrius, 1993), in which several /circulatory knowledge /are undertaken, is connected to the territory generated by the circulatory population in which the process of identity creation, collective memories, social relations and belonging criteria seem to dissociate from assumption of sedentarism.To understand this mobility it is necessary to analyze the textile sector and the relationship between the labor employment forms and the migratory patterns of the bolivians. Another factor that shall be checked and that seems to influence the mobility of the migratory people refers to the use of communication and information technology, which centralize the logic of access, shifting the classical problematic of the migratory sociology related to the assimilation and inclusion (Diminescu, 2007).To conduct the study the multisited ethnography will be used within the parameters of George Marcus (1995), because it characterizes the networks involved on the migratory flow that links Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires and Bolivia. The research will be developed from ethnographic observations, interviews and documents consultation.
