Abstract

Wind turbines connected to electrical grid may cause voltage fluctuations in the electrical energy systems. Such voltage fluctuations are due to the wind speed variations, which results in variation of the output power of the wind turbines. In this project, it is proposed an evaluation of the voltage fluctuations in a distribution system caused by the wind generator operation. It will be taken into consideration fixed speed wind turbines connected to different electrical grids in different configurations. The evaluations will be developed based on the simulation results conducted in SimPowerSystems, an electrical energy simulation tool available in MatLab environmental.
