Abstract

Perysilvian Syndrome (PS) is used when patients present clinical manifestations due to lesions on perisylvian or opercular region. Clinically, symptoms may vary from developmental language disorders (DLD) to refractory epilepsy. The most frequent lesion is polimicrogiria. The aim of this study will be to identify to possible alterations in the different psycholinguistics processes and in the central auditory processing information envolved with production and understanding of the verbal language and writing in children with DLD. They will be part of the study school children, seven to 12 years of age with Perisylvian Syndrome. The authors will obtain psychological and audiological assessment, language evaluation, neurologic examination, and neuroimaging investigation. We want to correlated the auditory processing disorders with DLD in the Perisylvian Syndrome, to elaborate the treatment, based in the possible alterations.
