Abstract

This project has a main subject the development of a new approach to the preparation of vicinal tricarbonyl compounds. These substances can be used as substrate for the syntehsis of biologically active compounds and for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds, such as heme, which is presented in ceratin enzymes. The proposed method is diret and simple. It uses cheap and easy-to-handle reagents. The methods available in literature to synthesize these compounds are very dificult to reproduce. (AU)
