Abstract

Brazil increases every year their area production of sugar cane. The planting areas are initiated with modern technology to bring not only greater financial returns to producers, but also cause less environmental impact. The adoption of precision agriculture is well suited to these purposes, but requires specific machinery and equipment, and accurate information on crop productivity and soil characteristics. The spatial variability of soil have not been properly taken into account in the productive processes of agriculture. Therefore the objective of this study is to analyze the spatial variability of physical and chemical soil attributes in areas with production of sugar cane from different cuts, and correlate with maps of vegetation index (NDVI), to use techniques of Precision Agriculture. The values of mechanical resistance to penetration, bulk density, soil porosity, macro and micronutrients will be analised in plots with different cuts, generating maps of spatial variability and then these maps will be correlated with the NDVI. For this, the sampling will take place at points of a grid georeferenced. The samples will be collected for analysis of soil attributes. The data will be analyzed by geostatistics techniques, which measures more closely tend to be more similar than those observed in distant locations, and thus quantify this spatial correlation and incorporate it in the estimation and inference of the index vegetation.
