Considering the fact that the relationship between arts is noticeable in Mário de Andrade´s reflection, since the 1920´s, this project aims at an investigation of the possible sources for the writer´s opinions on this subject, researching, in his library, books, articles and essays that focus on this topic. The research intends to compare, to this part of the corpus, constituted of readings made by Mário de Andrade, his journalistic production and essays, in search of approaches between texts read by him (some with notes in the margins and highlighted parts) and opinions expressed. Concerning Mário de Andrade´s literary works, moments which poetry and prose from the writer incorporated resources from other arts will be focussed, such as the harmonic and melodic verses in the book Paulicéia desvairada, that absorbed musical terminology.Mário de Andrade´s interest in issues of intersemiosis is demonstrated in the titles of study cards written by him, such as "Music and cinema", "Music and poetry" and "Music and painting". On these documents, the writer designated readings, accessible in his library, including books, essays and articles, which consider the study proposed by this doctorate project.I emphasize that the work of investigation for possible sources has been conducted in the Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros, since my master´s degree research "No écran das folhas brancas: o cinema nas leituras, produção jornalística e criação literária de Mário de Andrade", sponsored by FAPESP. The project gave priority, in the writer´s library, to the texts on cinema, and to Mário de Andrade´s movie reviews. This doctoral research is a continuation of this work, taking into account that it proceeds with the study in the writer´s library, problematizing the topic of intersemiosis, grasped during the previous research, in the multiple relations established by the author between cinema and music, and cinema and painting. Besides the listing of these texts read by the poet of Remate de Males, the corpus is complemented by manuscripts, as the previously mentioned study cards, as well as books containing notes, drafts and handwritten and typescript versions, aiming nat capturing the modernist writer´s process of creation.
