Abstract

Coastal areas in the Brazilian territory is characterized by the dynamics of natural processes associated with the conformation of relief that may represent areas of risk to the occurrence of events such as mass movement or flooding. The intensive process of human occupation over time in these areas has assisted greatly weaken the organization of the whole natural system that governs these spaces resulting in catastrophic frames. Because of environmental fragility and the pressure of land use observed in the scenery in the coastal region south of the State of Sao Paulo this work proposes the implementation of a study Zoning Geoenvironmental for the area municipalities that occupy the area of the South Coast State of Sao Paulo, more specifically those located in the coastal zone of influence, such as municipalities Iguape, Ilha Comprida and Cananéia, using the methodology proposed by Rodriguez, Cavalcanti and Silva (2002) Geoecology of the Landscape. Through the survey and data analysis of the natural and socio-economic, aims to define the framework of geoenvironmental units of the study area at scale 1:100.000 as the final product. It is considered that the results of this study may aid in the discussion of territorial planning of land use that takes into account the conformation and dynamics of the landscape as a prerogative in setting standards for use and occupation frame to minimize the environmental impacts observed. Furthermore, it may serve to assist in environmental planning, since this area has a fragile natural environment with anthropogenic processes conflicting.
