Abstract

This paper aims to conduct a comparison of public health programs for indigenous peoples of Brazil and Bolivia, as part of a policy of ethnic and inclusive citizenship, to promote health by respecting the rights of indigenous peoples, and also in recognition of universal human rights guidelines and international conventions. The work seems to be relevant to the extent that these programs are considered effective in combating the health problems and also as a way to break the vicious cycle of social and cultural exclusion of the indigenous - something that should be checked in the search. Moreover, health policy for ethnic people have the desire to consider not only the indigenous mere users of the health system, but also players in this system and holders of traditional knowledge and practices, working in all phases of public policy . The work is part of the research topic of Human Rights Indicators for Indigenous Peoples to be held at the University of São Paulo. (AU)
