The metalanguage and the grammatical accuracy in the oral proficiency of two teachers of English as a foreign language.

Abstract

Giving the today's need for competent and well-prepared professionals for the teaching of foreign languages for communication purposes and considering the various researches in the field of Applied Linguistics dedicated to the competency of language teachers or language teachers to be, this project aims at presenting a comparative study of the kind of language produced by English teachers to be, it means, senior students, according to the TEPOLI, an English oral proficiency test taken by senior students from Letras course, and the language produced in classroom by these teachers after graduating. The focus of the research is on the metalanguage, once proficiency in the target language is expected from this professional.
