Abstract

The culture of tilapia is one of agricultural activities that have been increasing in recent years, driven by their breeding and reproductive performance. Probiotics have been used as substitutes for antibiotics because they are natural and not harmful to the environment. Factors such as the type of probiotic, viability of the microorganisms when they are aggregated to feed, conditions of storage, management, and health can affect their effectiveness. The objective of this experiment is to evaluate the process of incorporation of the probiotic on two different types of diets (pelleted and extruded) in order to evaluate the efficiency of the product in a formulated diet. The probiotic used will be the PAS-TR ®, by IMEVE Biotechnology, consisting of Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus toyoi and will be added to feed directly into the experimental process and later with the oil (soybean oil). Thus, ten juveniles of Nile tilapia, Gift strain, initially weighing approximately five grams, will be distributed in 25 aquariums and fed the experimental diets over a period of 63 days. Evaluated, survival rates (TS), weight gain (WG), daily food consumption (DAC), apparent feed conversion (CAA), specific growth rate (TCE) and liversomatic index (HSI). Also, the counting and quantification of the bacteria in the intestine and feed on fish, will be determined. The histology of the intestine, haematological parameters and water quality will be evaluated. Finally, it is expected to carry out a protocol for incorporation of probiotic in the diet. (AU)
