This doctorate research project aims to analyse how the diffuse urbanisation generates different processes of metropolisation and transforms the spatial mobility through a relation established in multiple scales by constituting discontinuous urban tissues. Therefore, the research start point is the analysis of the named diffuse urbanisation that could be understood in the context of techniques and technologies improvement that has constituted more and more dispersed urban tissues in capitalism. The research is based on the hypothesis that follows: dialectically, a new urbanisation, characterised by diffuse spatialities that are the result of the virtual complete urbanisation of society, is formed at the same time that a new urban is transformed through the spatial forms reconfigured by the diffuse urbanisation. The focus of the research in the diffuse urbanisation is justified by the very importance that the urban problematic is gaining in the last years because this sort of urbanisation is a result of the social transformations that have created the disarticulations noted in the scalar expansion of the daily life in both cities and metropolises. The analytical choice of Sao Paulo, Brasilia and Sao Luis cities is due to the specificities that they present in the scenario of both world and Brazilian urbanisations, considering the important characteristics of their urban tissues and the visible spatial transformations that result from the diffuse urbanisation. Likewise, the need of making comparative studies in Brazil and studying more the cities of the country's Northeast is another point took into consideration. The methodology that will support the development of the thesis arises from the conjunction of the philosophical and geographical methods of analysis, that give the theoretical guidance, and the proceedings though which the research will be realised.
