Abstract

This research is inserted in the project "Reconstruction of the vegetation and climate since the middle Holocene in Brazil", approved by FAPESP (07/03615-5). Researches involving pollen analyses in the Quaternary, are based on relationship between the preserved pollen in samples of sediment with the original vegetation, allowing the paleovegetation reconstruction and paleoclimate inferences. This project intend to study the dynamic of the expansion and regression of the forest, savanna and mangrove ecotone, in high resolution along the Holocene, using interdisciplinary analyses involving bioindicators, C and N isotopes (´13C,14C, ´15N) and charcoal micro particles determination. Eventual anthropogenic effects at the study sites will also be searched, using the same indicators.
