Abstract

The general aim of this research project is to understand the workings of the lower circuit of urban economy of São Paulo City, searching to exhibit the plots of the production and extension of this circuit, especially with respect to an intensive sector in using the work force, the confection sector, which has arrived to the point of including workers of other seas, mainly the Bolivians. In increasing the Treatises and Agreements aiming for the South-American integration in these days, the interchange between the territories of Bolivia and Brazil has increased. Many researches have emphasized in the South-American integration from the increase in the circulation of products and of the material construction necessaries to the circulations associated to big companies, that is, associated to the upper circuit of economy. Nonetheless, there exists interactions that, although not disconnected to modern dynamics, are more linked to an economy of activities non-hegemonic; this is the case of the lower circuit of urban economy. In that context, the absorption, generally precarious, of the Bolivian's work force in the confections of central area of São Paulo city indicates to other forms of integration beyond to the Treatises and Agreements did among Chancelleries of the States. The economic asymmetries among the South-American territories are important explicative ingredients of the modalities of work force, but the measure and extension of the lower circuit, traditionally well accepted to small scales of production and restricted areas of working, also are elements to understand the new connections among territorial economies.
