Abstract

The present project is focused on the development of analytical procedures exploiting flow systems with multicommutation to solve problems of environmental and technological interest: manganese determination in saline solutions, free glycerol in bio-diesel and total organic carbon in waters and effluents. Independently controlled commuting devices will be exploited to implement the diverse steps required in the analytical procedures. Spectrophotometric detection, including the use of a long optical path flow cell, will be explored to increase sensitivity. In addition, the development of the analytical procedure will emphasize the replacement of toxic reagents. Minimization of reagent consumption and waste generation will be achieved by means of automation.
