The project proposes to model the processes of genesis and evolution of the magmas that formed the Chapecó-type acidic volcanic rocks in the Piraju-Ourinhos (SP). Rock chemistry (including the REE, Th, U and others) and mineral chemistry data previously obtained in the Scientific Initiation of the candidate will be used together with new data that will be obtained in a set of ca. 8 representative samples, and include: (1)microanalysis of trace-elements in phenocrysts and glass by LA-ICPMS; (2) whole-rock Sm-Nd and Rb-Sr isotopy; (3) zircon Lu-Hf isotopy by LA-MC-ICPMS. This robust set of data will allow some models previously elaborated to be refined, quantitatively testing the processes of fractional crystallization and remelting of basalt underplates in one area where basic geological and petrographic information is well-constrained.
