Abstract

OBJECTIVE: The ceramics restorations have provided excellent aesthetic and biomechanical clinical results, basing the biomimetic concept in cosmetic Dentistry. However, based on biomemitic concept, the data correlation among dental ceramics system and in all-ceramic restorations supported by implant are inconclusive. By this way, the purpose of this study is to evaluate, through bidimensional finite element analysis (FEA), the stress distribution based on two ceramics restorative possibilities (laminate veneer and ceramic crown) and two support structures for crown (natural tooth and implant). MATERIAL AND METHOD: 8 models (M) will be elaborated in AutoCAD 2006 program: MA (control) – an intact central incisor (21) in sagital cut; MB1, MB2 and MB3 – similar to MA, containing the 21 tooth restored with IPS Empress (MB1), IPS Empress Esthetic (MB2) and Procera Veneer (MB3); MC1 e MC2 – similar to MA, containing the 21 tooth restored with IPS Empress 2 (MC1) and Procera AllCeram (MC2) crowns; MD1 and MD2 – similar to MB in ceramics restoration, but containing an osseointegrated implant (Bränemark system - 3,75 X 15,0 mm; internal hexagon) to support the crowns IPS Empress 2 (MD1) and Procera AllCeram (MD2).The numerical analysis will be performed by Ansys 10.0 and, in general aspects, all models will be considered isotropic, linearly elastic and homogenous. The loading will be performed by two condition: C1 - 100N on the palatine face, forming 45º with the dental long axis, simulating the Angle Classe I occlusion; C2 - 50N on the incisal edge, simulating desocclusion in posterior area. RESULTS: There will be adopted the von Mises equivalent stresses criterion to analyse the results based on general and specifics stress maps. The data will be submitted to descriptive statistical analysis. (AU)
