The doctorate project entitled "Automation of Processes of Detection of Lacks in Lines of Distribution Using Specialist Hybrid Systems" consists of the development of an automated intelligent system constituted by tools based on computational intelligence (artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms, intelligent agents) interlinked with classic techniques of signal processing and systems optimization, in order to develop a unique integrated system in order to identify, locate and classify in an efficient way the several types of faults that can occur in distribution lines, contributing also to minimize the necessary time for restoring the electric power supply.
