Abstract
The goal of our research project is to develop new empirical and theoretical analysis of the politics of education reform in Brazil and Latin America in order to better understand strategies of reform and the participation of stakeholders like parents, teacher unions, business, and other organizations in civil society. The main activities would be co-authoring a paper and organizing an international workshop. Both would draw on the respective strengths of Schneider's research on other countries of Latin America and Abrucio's comparison across states and municipalities in Brazil. (AU)
