New strand to biomolecules discovery, laccases with biotechnological applications (LBMPMetaDB)

Abstract

Metagenomic and genomic data mining has grown exponentially in recent years, due to the large amount of data generated by next generation sequencing however there is an overload in the databases used for the analysis. The structure of a database that allows to understand analyze and possibly exploring genes and organisms within the research group would give more speed to the polls with the ease of access to great information in the genomes and metagenomas and thus help research groups to explore the results obtained in several studies, in order to uncover the untapped, both at the level of organisms such as genes and secondary metabolites. The objective of this project is to implement a WEB system for assembly and annotation Metagenomics through pipelines tested by the group, serving as a system that can be used for any type of metagenomic a local bank of genes from the result of mining those with biotechnological interest, and thus prospect important and versatile enzymes such as laccases for biotechnological applications e.g. in bioremediation and bioenergy among others, and further evaluating the difference as the different functions and structures.
