Abstract

The objective of this research is to master the techniques for developing, manufacturing, assembling and testing a slewing mirror mechanism to be mounted in a payload in a future Brazilian remote sensing space mission. The slewing mirror Mechanism is composed by two mechanical: The first one module is a mechanical module composed by a Lateral Adjustment Mechanism, a Stepper Motor and a High Precision Angular Rotary Encoder. The second module is called Control Electronics Module. That module shall be capable to receive and analyze the data from the encoder and then provide the control of the Stepper Motor to move the Lateral Adjustment Mechanism in order to establish its correct position.
