Land use and climate changes impact on hydrological processes of basin Piracicaba River/SP: analysis by means of modeling technical

Abstract

Land use and climate changes are two factors affecting the hydrology of watersheds. The greatest effect of climate change is likely to change in the hydrological cycle, thus water availability for human consumption, industry, and power generation. While the change in land use can cause changes in the hydrological components of the basin, such as evapotranspiration, runoff and groundwater recharge. From these projections, it is necessary to understand the processes involved in climate change and land use and its impact on water systems in order to identify, prevent and propose mitigation measures. In this context, the main objective of this study is to evaluate the long term, the sensitivity of hydrologic variables such as water yield, evapotranspiration (ET) and the flow in the rivers of the basin Piracicaba river, with distributed hydrologic model, under climate change scenarios, including changes in temperature and rainfall and change of land use with modellers.
