Coco nut oil cosmetic potential: in vitro Het CAM analysis and sensory analysis

Abstract

The Brazilian industrial section of toiletries, perfumery and cosmetics it's one of the more growing industrials sectors in recent years in Brazil, attracting more consumers, and developing research and technology with the aim of innovate and meet the needs of different publics. The coconut oil has a rich composition of saturated esters and polyphenolic compounds that promote antioxidant activity. On average 46% of saturated fatty acids with a medium chain of its composition are represented by molecules of lauric acid that provides to this oil antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity. Due to the mentioned activities and others mentioned in literature, the coconut oil is considered an important raw material that, if applied correctly to cosmetic formulation, will allow special care as will promote cell renewal and moisturizing of the skin tissue in different types of formulations.
