Mobile platform for hospital and healthcare professionals comunication and management - MEDTIME®

Abstract

Medicine is slowly losing fundamental values such as care for the individual and meaningful doctor-patient relationship. Important fact that explains this is the time that physicians spend in front of computers, 40% of the time in the hospital, while only 12% along with patients. Paradoxically, the increasing use of technology may be key to solve the problem. Mobile devices are tools with high potential to provide solution to the health area. The objective of this project is to develop Medtime a platform with an application for mobile devices and an application for web interface focused on duty scheduling, patient handoff, multidisciplinary communication, bed management monitoring and patient flow monitoring. The aim is to allow professionals of medical and multidisciplinary area to be more effective in communication, reducing time processes and gaining time to devote to patient contact. For the implementation of the research, Medtime will have three work fronts in the its methodology. First, to develop the business model along with the customer utilizing the business model canvas; Second, develop Medtime platform through integrated SCRUM methodology with project control system Team Foundation Server (TFP) of Microsoft; And the third, to keep up with the project's results, there will be partial reports of results and budget reports. The expected results for the implementation of this project are: in the end of two years, obtaining a better marketable solution through business model canvas modeled by research for hospital needs; start operation in a single institution; investment of a third party other than FAPESP and own Medtech; production of scientific papers showing the current state of health solutions in smartphones and the benefit of using mobile solutions for hospital management and communication.
