Abstract

In a context strongly marked due to climate changes and uncertainty, and with strong tendencies of alterations in the dynamics of the hydric regime, it is pressing to advance in the knowledge and innovation associated to the adoption of flexible measures of adaptive management of water and the implementation of practices of socio-environmental governance in an integrated and interdependent perspective. Facing the evidences of global warming and the consequences of climate variability, new challenges are set to approach the theme of socio-environmental governance, namely of water and related themes, in a scale that transcends the metropolitan region of São Paulo, whose more known denomination is Macrometropolis Paulista. This project has as its main goal, therefore, to analyze in an interdisciplinary perspective, through 5 subprojects in the context of the Macrometropolis Paulista, the set of processes that should be part of an agenda of action and integration of the different interfaces of environmental governance associated to water. It aims, therefore to understand and analyze the impacts of wide processes of environmental degradation and growth of macrometropolitan vulnerability and propose initiatives and actions that should compose an agenda of articulation and integration of the different interfaces of environmental governance in a context of climate change.
