The use of nanomaterials for the development of flexible electronic devices, especially in organic photovoltaics (CFOs), has been successfully carried out both by academia and by printed and organic electronics industry. In this context, transition metal oxides nanocrystals (CN) are used in the doping of the hole transporting interlayer, PEDOT: PSS or its complete replacement for thin films produced from tungsten oxide inks (WOX). Such modification is performed when it is willing to increase the lifetime of the device as well as the solar energy conversion efficiency into electric energy. Thus, this project focuses on the continuity of the development proposed in the PIPE Phase 1 and on the technological challenges encountered during this phase. Surface and structural changes in the NC, as well as the elimination of contaminants will be the main challenges to overcome in the Phase 2, since the product has promising performance in the production of CFOs, confirmed by our partner/customer (CSEM Brazil). Indeed, once overcoming these challenges, the product will become highly competitive either in sales price or performance. In this way, NCs are produced via the nonaqueous solvotermal method in organic médium because is a versatile method that allows the nanomaterials sythesis with high process control. So, at the end of this Project, it is expected to obtain an ink that can be applied effectively in the production of CFOs, establish two more industrial partnerships and explore other technologies application for the tungsten oxide nanostructured ink.
