Professor Chantale Dumolin, Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montréal, Director of the Perineal and Pelvic Reeducation Program, Lecturer of the Urogynecological Health Chair of the University Center for Research in Aging in Montreal (Institut Universitaire de Génériatrie de Montréal)(#papers WoS 44, #citations 689, H-index=13) will actively participate in research project FAPESP 2013/13820-6 entitled "Influence of perineal training and type of delivery on multivectoral distribution of female pelvic floor loads", which is being developed at LABIMPH and the Department of Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, under my guidance and coordination, during the month that she will be visiting us in 2017.Due to her vast and profound experience in clinical trials regarding female population and biomechanical studies of the pelvic floor, her participation will take place in the form of (i) Steering advisor of projects within the research line of the Biomechanics of the Pelvic Floor in the LABIMPH, ( ii) discussion of outcomes and clinical/biomechanical variables/parameters that are the results of this research project financed by FAPESP, and finally (iii) interpretation of the data obtained with a view to joint publication. The participation of Professor Dumoulin will also be related to (iv) Thesis defense committee of the student Licia P. Cacciari (FAPESP scholarship) that is involved in the FAPESP project in question. During the visit, we will also develop (v) a small-scale methodological study on the measurement of pressure in the vaginal canal of women in different health conditions. In addition to contributing to the existing research project in this line of research and in this methodological study, (vi) seminars related to projects under development in LABIMPH within the research line of the Pelvic Floor Biomechanics will be presented as well as discussions of papers referring to themes of the projects associated: biomechanics of the pelvic floor of women with urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction. Professor Dumoulin will also offer a (vii) course in "Physiotherapy treatment for urinary incontinence in aging women: the Montreal experience" (1 credit - 15h); (viii) a lecture on "How to conduct a Cochrane systematic review" for the same public and a lecture for undergraduate students in Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy on "Conservative management of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolaps: the state Of the evidences in 2016 ".
