Abstract

The detailed analysis of wind generators on the market allowed us to identify several factors that limit their efficiency and reliability, due to the weight of the turbine generator shaft, the configuration of the turbine blades, the friction of the back with the air moving and friction of moving parts with fixed components. These limitations, among other, result in inefficient systems, requiring constant maintenance and work only with winds of moderate or high speed. The research project proposes the development of a wind turbine, with new configuration and the characteristics needed for the wind potential can be leveraged to the maximum. From the patents resulting from the simulations and previous studies, the equipment will consist of a monoblock with reduced weight and dimensions, nice ergonomics, easy installation, and can generate electricity even at low wind intensity. The main innovations introduced refer to: (i) Axis wind turbine, mounted between two conjugated pairs of permanent magnets, which eliminates friction between moving and fixed parts, reducing maintenance requirements and increasing reliability; (ii) Propeller blades (suitable number of blades to be determined According to the application) in semi- helical Which results in a more efficient format, whatever the point of view of the observer, or more precisely, whatever the direction of incidence of the wind and (iii) Even with an ideal form, the backs of the blades are provided with several holes (similar to a golf ball), which, appropriately distributed and with absolute accuracy just in the areas of air friction, friction causes the pulse is transformed into increasing efficiency and reducing losses. Besides these differences, it is expected that the price of the installed assembly is substantially less than the (few) existing international suppliers. The wind turbine can thus be an excellent alternative for generating clean electricity in residential, small buildings, condominiums, businesses, boats, remote locations, facilities etc. From the previous studies, the research will be completed and the necessary components for development of mechanical components solutions, plus specify and integrate electric drive, perform the required tests, including wind tunnel and produce two functional prototypes.
