Abstract

Data loss and leakages are global problems. Just on the United Kingdom 78% of small and medium business (SMBs) suffered data leakages during 2014 and 82% consider high priority to invest in data protection during the next years. This creates a positive environment (US$6 bi) for low cost solutions to protect data against leakages and losses. This proposal presents a project to create a novel secure data storage technology using multi cloud environments. Using data dispersal, cryptography and strategical providers selection we make possible to store files with high levels of security, privacy, availability and performance. There is still a small gap, which creates a need for more research to improve our technology and make it commercially viable. The main objectives of this proposal are to study and develop security mechanisms on the frontend and scale our dispersal model, proposing better architectures, algorithms and protect them using patents. Our methodology will study and propose new security mechanisms and develop a prototype which will be tested and will become our minimum viable product for phase 2. This technology will considerably increase the level of data privacy and protection for SMBs, it will be accessible and compatible with international data regulations. Due to our global scope, our initial market will be the European market. That is the reason for our incorporation at the United Kingdom (no. 09527513) and members based in Brazil and in the UK, which makes easier to access our target market. (AU)
