Abstract

The Brazil, is a tropical country with high prevalence of arboviruses, especially dengue and chikungunya. Outbreaks of infection caused by Zika virus have been reported in Africa, Southeast Asia and, currently, in the Americas, especially in our country. The Brazil also stands out on the world of transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCT) and solid organs. However, the occurrence of arboviruses in transplant population, particularly in HSCT is rare and has been recently described in Brazilian studies, probably due to outbreaks that are happening in the country. However, little information is known about the evolution of these diseases in this population. This study aims to describe the features of clinical presentation, laboratory abnormalities and to assess the viral dynamics in the population underwent to hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation seen at the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Estado de São Paulo. This is a prospective cohort of 200 patients, and these will be followed up for 1 year (allogeneic transplant) and 3 months (autologous transplant). Research hospital vector will be held as well as transmission by blood products. All patients will be evaluated by serology to dengue, chikungunya and zika, and also by PCR. The blood products and HSCT donor will screening again for arbovirus always that a HSCT is positive for arbovirus. (AU)
