Feasibility study of the integration technology thermal control with fluid dynamics term analysis to increase productivity in breeding animals

Abstract

Currently, animal production (poultry and pork) in Brazil using technologies that control the authoring environments, in order to improve the thermal comfort of the animals. The definition of how it should be done this control is through the environmental air conditioning system. The premises where the animals are housed, the airflow is primarily responsible for environmental control and maintenance of ideal conditions for maximum growth performance. The challenge is being able to keep the entire environment with homogeneous temperatures, which is proposed by thermal controls, but with levels of efficiency that can be improved. The Tau Flow aims to use the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to improve the efficiency of thermal control of the environment. Through Numerical Simulation Computational analyzes what the best layout for the installation of air-conditioning systems and thus improve air circulation efficiency in the environment, which will generate a more precise thermal control. The CFD is an innovative technology in Brazil and is already used for breeding of animals in Europe, USA and Asia. The proposal for this project is to integrate existing technologies of thermal control with the CFD, to ensure the best efficiency in the use of resources by the customer. It is developing a data logger (software) able to read the information of thermal control and transform these data into information for CFD software to analyze the performance of the facility is the closest to the ideal. The results of the research will bring better quality in environments design projects and cost reduction in the application of thermal control. The Tau Flow will develop a kit, which will consist of anemometers, the integration of software and the CFD. The kit will be used in the analysis, where the client will be able to evaluate the performance of your environment. In this phase 1 of the project will be analyzed the data collector development feasibility (software integrator) using multichannel anemometer that will provide information so that you can use CFD to generate measurable gains in the design process of breeding. Innovation is present in the use anemometer with capacity to collect data from air speed and temperature, integrating software and CFD software to generate efficiency in production animals. Something not yet used in the domestic market. The research will be based on cost-benefit ratio to provide this kind of technology to producers, mainly targeting large producers like BRF Foods, Seara, Frimesa, among others in Mercosul. The question to be equalized by the research is related to the efficiency gains that can be generated and its operating cost when compared to systems currently used in breeding. (AU)
