Abstract

Background: The characterization of the vaginal microbiome according the local immune response profile takes an important issue nowadays, when many women will receiving the HPV vaccine, which induces na specific immune microenvironment. However, the local and systemic immune effects in vaccinated women and the possible influences on the vaginal microbiome are not completely understood. Objective: Characterize the cervicovaginal and systemic immune response by measuring of TH1/TH2 levels and correlate with vaginal microbiome, before and after vaccination by bivalent HPV 16/18 vaccine (Cervarix®). Methods: Twenty women will be included in this study and will receive the bivalent HPV 16/18 vaccine (Cervarix®). The level of TH1(INF-³, IL2, IL-12, TNF-±) and TH2 (IL-4, IL-5, IL-10, IL-13) cytokines will be measured the in serum and cervicovaginal samples, by ELISA multiplex. The analysis of the vaginal microbiome will be made by Nugent criteria and bacterial pyrosequencing ribosomal 16S RNA gene. (AU)
