Acquisition of Multi-User Equipment to develop research at School of Applied Sciences

Abstract

The School of Applied Sciences - FCA is one of the newest units of University of Campinas. Established in 2009, the faculty offers six undergraduate (Administration, Public Administration, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Sports and Nutrition Sciences) and four graduate courses (Science and Nutrition Sports and Metabolism; Operations Research; Science and Technology Policy; and an Interdisciplinary program in Humanities and Applied Social Sciences). It currently has a student body of about 2,300 members. Most of the academic staff holds a postdoctoral title and has acquired professional experience internationally. The raise in the number of research projects developed at the faculty and funded by FAPESP reflects the staff's ability to plan, manage and foment innovations in both public and private sectors. The Institutional Technical Reserve provided by FAPESP has substantially contributed to the progress of research and advances in knowledge, and guarantees the establishment of research groups who can only thrive with funds from funding agencies.Considering the characteristics of this resource, which offers support for the improvement of the collective research infrastructure, this Implementation Plan is the result of a joint analysis conducted by researchers who generated the RTI resources to the FCA within a usage perspective network or benefiting the largest number of researchers. Below, we list the essential items for the development of research projects in effect and the technical reasons for their acquisition, meeting the demands specifically related to research promoted by FAPESP in our unit.
