Extended Techniques: a compositional approach

Abstract

The main objective of this project is to stimulate the research in the cross-domain of musical creation and performance, having by focus the practice and use of extended techniques as musical resource en contemporary music. So, this research will be lead en the cross-domain of composition and performance by the way of propositions of musical experience, which explores and develops strategies on using extended technique as compositional ground. The starting point will be models, which considers the energetic chain for sound production, as presented in the physical modeling of sound. These models consider the allagmatic and transductive model proposed by Gilbert Simondon in his mechanologie, and it will take as a compositional metaphor. This project has by background the article "Proto-história, evolução e situação atual das técnicas estendidas na criação de na performance", published by the author of the project and Prof.Dr. José Henrique Padovani Velloso (Padovani-Ferraz, 2013).
