Study of star formation regions with J-PAS

Abstract

The theoretical study we have developed on the physical processes involved in star formation refer to winds of solar type stars and protostellar discs, seeking to better understand the formation and the early stages of evolution of these objects. In this project we intend to mount an observational picture of star formation to place links in the scenario currently accepted. For this we propose a large-scale study of the physical conditions as the distribution of ionized gas, the magnetic activity, the degree of turbulence, the rate of circumstellar accretion, among others, of a star formation region. To obtain the data are needed telescopes with large field and a set of accessories (filters, CCD cameras, etc.) suitable for this purpose. In view of the needs of this project, we participate in the J-PAS project and part of the resources requested are for the completion of the CCD JPCam camera that will be installed on the 2.5 m telescope of the Observat orio Astrof 1sico de Javalambre (OAJ), located in the Sierra de Javalambre in Teruel, Spain.
