Enhancing salt tolerance in tomato crops for advancing sustainable agriculture and food production

Abstract

This project aims to deliver (i) new tomato lines with enhanced salt tolerance for breeding programs. (ii) Fundamental insights into a so far unknown pathway for salt tolerance that is highly relevant for field conditions. (iii) Marker genes and alleles for breeding programs to enhance and stabilize tomato crop yield under adverse growth conditions. (AU)
