Abstract

Inclusive education is a field and a movement that discuss how the difference is treated and understood by schools and teachers. The education and the difference rights to everyone are starting points for the effectiveness of this process, which should be constantly evaluated to improve the quality of education. This study aims to evaluate the quality of education for the target group of special education students (named "Público-alvo da Educação Especial" - PAEE), considering existing documents, developed practices, continuing education courses offered and social validity of those involved. Action research with the collaborative participation of researchers from three universities of the District of Bauru / SP will be used, as well as volunteers, public prosecutors and school systems, teachers, management team, students from PAEE, other students, parents of PAEE students, caregivers, and other school employees involved (state and municipal ones). The procedures for data collection will follow four steps: a) documents selection and analyze; b) schools raffle of each different educational systems in order to choose the ones to be evaluated in situ (representative sample); c) planning and provision of continuing education; d) evaluation of Continuing Education course. Therefore, it is expected with this research, to provide subsides related to special education offered at evaluated schools aiming to fulfill the prosecution request seeking the appropriate legal referrals, as well as to improve the provision of services to PAEE students of Bauru district, and the ability to plan, implement and evaluate a continuing education course for teachers in order to improve specialized education and pedagogical practices developed in common classes, which may encourage policies, practices and more inclusive cultures in other districts.
