The purpose of this study is fourfold: 1) to build collaborative research links between British and Brazilian researchers; 2) to facilitate knowledge transfer and exchange between researchers in Brazil and the UK; 3) to conduct pilot/background research in order to apply for long-term, collaborative research funding in the future (e.g., Economic and Social Research Council Leverhulme Trust, British Academy, FAPESP, CAPES, European Research Council), and; 4) to conduct seminars and workshops at research institutions in São Paulo (e.g., CEBRAP) that highlight British research on Brazil and facilitate future collaborative and international links (AU)
