Phenomenology of the particle physics and nucleus in the light-front formalism

Abstract

In this project, we use the formulation of the Quantum Field Theory on the Light Front (QFTLF); in order to study the structure of mesons, baryons and light nuclei with the constituents,, i.e, in terms of itsdegrees of freedom of quarks and gluons, from the quantum chromodynamics (QCD).The fact of choice in use the Quantum Light-Front Field Theory formulation,it is that with this formulation have certain advantages compared with the usual formulation of the quantum field theory (equal time)which will be discussed in this project. In the light-front the quantization, we have problems related to the loss of some symmetries, among these are a loss of rotational symmetry when the Fock space is truncated. The loss of rotational invariance is treated in description of composite particles spin-0,which are the pseudoscalares mesons, such as the pion and kaon. For spin-1 particles, we have mesons, like rho meson and kaon-sta, also the deuteron. In recent work, we use component, J^+=J^0 +J^3, (plus component of the electromagnetic current) to study scalar mesons, as the pi meson and kaon and vector such asrho meson. We try extend this work to other mesons. In addition, we will studythe properties of mesons and baryons, with quantum light-front field theory in dense media. (AU)
