Project to upgrade equipment and supporting infrastructure of multi-user research laboratories of Unicamp's Art Institute.

Abstract

This project provides an upgrading of equipment and supporting infrastructure of two multi-user research laboratories of the Unicamp's Arts Institute, namely: 1. Multi-User Laboratory of the Arts Institute.The Arts Institute has a Multi-User Lab - Amphitheatre - with total area of 300m2, divided between 100m2 of Italian stage and 200m2 of space for public audience with 187 seats. The performances, always directed to the front of the stage, have a dimensional space: proscenium arch - 9,6m, depth - 7,16m, height to the lighting truss system - 4.5 m, and aisle on each side - 2,94m. Next to the amphitheater is located a technical cabin to handling of audiovisual equipment for filming, video editing, lighting and sound. This is an important facility for teaching and research activities of music, drama and dance courses, since the stage is the place where the artistic formation is performed to the open audience. Great part of the presentations (concerts, recitals, shows, theatrical plays, exhibitions, thesis defense recitals) are practical results of research carried out by students and faculty of the Arts Institute, supported by various funding agencies (FAPESP, CNPq , PIBIC, CAPES, FAEPEX).2. Arts Institute's Gallery - GAIA.In 2013, the Arts Institute's Gallery - GAIA (founded in 1983) established a new overall project that aims to foster the research in arts and their productions, as well as outreach activities related to these productions. Actions took place to define the role of this university gallery inside the Arts Institute's framework, in prospect to the university as a whole, and related to the main panorama of art in the country, as an exhibition venue set in the context of academic productions focused on the research of public displays of visual art works mainly of contemporary art. The main axis of the Gallery is divided in two fronts: the exhibition activities and educational activities. Both start from public open calls for art exhibitions, creating an annual agenda to receive exhibitions and curatorial projects of the artistic community inside the university as well as external artistic community, and artistic research related to the Graduate Program in Visual Arts of the Arts Institute. Interdisciplinary proposals from other artistic areas of the Institute, namely: music, body arts, theater, multimedia and film, are systematically taken up by the Gallery since 2014.Following are listed the FAPESP Regular Projects, in course, which are utilizing these research laboratories:- Process number 2013/14803-8, on behalf of Prof. Dr. Hermilson Nascimento Garcia, entitled "The Brazilian project of guitarist Heraldo do Monte", effective 11.01.2013 to 31.10.2015.- Process number 2013 / 03579-0, on behalf of Prof. .
