Abstract

The aims of this projects: 1. Implementation of ocular tissues biobank to collect, process and store samples along with clinical data. 2. To study pathophysiological mecanisms underling three ocular conditions, cataract, pterigyum and dry eye.Methods: implementation of ocular tissue biobank according to current policies and ethical issues at Unicamp department of Ophthalmolog. Samples of tears, cataract and pterigyum will be collected for proteomic, metabolomic ans oxidative stress studies.Results: the first ocular tissue brazilian biobank will alow the collection, process and storage of samples and clinical data for research purposes in diferent areas of Ophthalmology. In addition, we will conduct studies about pathophysiological mecanisms of prevalent eye diseases, which could bring new therapeutic perspectives. (AU)
