Abstract
We are organizing a course on Advances in Breast Imaging Physics, directed to professionals in the Medical Physics area and graduate students of related areas. Topics will be discussed related to recent technological advances in the areas of mammography and tomosynthesis, with emphasis on application procedures optimization techniques aimed at assessing doses in patients undergoing these imaging techniques. This is a major theme currently in research on dosimetry of patients around the world and we invited the Prof. Robert Jennings, from the Division of Imaging and Applied Mathematic's Center for Devices and Radiological Health of the FDA, USA. Dr. Jennings is a senior professional with huge experience in both areas and will share the lecturers with professional IFUSP and UNICAMP. During the period at USP he will also contribute with some of our students working in related areas. (AU)
