Different vegetable oil sources associated with biosurfactant in lambs of diet finishing


The provision of lipids in the diet of sheep finishing can improve growth performance and carcass quality and meat. Vegetable oils have a higher amount of beneficial fatty acids to human health and to supply the animal can increase their content in the flesh. But excess offering can bring metabolic disorders the animal. The biosurfactant aims to reduce the negative effect of the provision of lipids in the diet of the animal and to increase the digestibility of food intake, with evidence for high zootechnical performance and improvement in carcass and meat. The objective of this study is to evaluate the addition of vegetable oil sources combined with the use of biosurfactant in lambs of diet finishing. The experiment will be conducted at the School of Animal Science and Food Engineering USP, campus Pirassununga, SP. Will be tested two oil sources (soybean and sunflower) with the combination of the use or not of biosurfactant, making a total of four treatments. For each treatment will be used ten lambs, not castrated, crossed with Dorper Santa Inês, with average initial weight 22-25 kg confined and slaughtered at 40 kg body weight. The food control and plenty will be offered daily, with animal weighing and body condition every 14 days. Will be made chemical analysis of food offered and left, as well as blood count analysis and biochemical analysis of the blood plasma of lambs at the beginning and end of the confinement. After slaughter will be made the following measurements: Housing weighing and non-carcass components, histology and morphometry of the rumen wall and intestine, analysis of ruminal pH, analysis of short chain fatty acids, rumen microbiology. The housing will be assessed objective measures of muscle and fat, and fatty acids and oxidative analysis of meat. With this analysis seeks to evaluate the effect of oil and the animal's performance biosurfactant, rumen metabolism in the gut also assess effects on carcass and meat. It has been hypothesized that there is a difference between sources of oil and that the use of biosurfactant improve the use lipid contained in the diet of lambs. (AU)
