Abstract

This project intends to maintain and strength the collaboration started in 2010 with support from FAPESP, which produced several publications in collaboration with ITA, proceedings of international conferences, and preprints available on arXiv . The work is based on the use of relativistic models with interactions to describe the electronic properties of graphene and nano ribbons and the study of the non-perturbative regime of QCD. In this project we propose to study further the properties of graphene and bigraphene, by using relativistic effective models developed with Quantum Field Theory techniques. Furthermore we intend to improve the description of the quark- gluon vertex matching the Dyson - Schwinger equations with the results of simulations of quantum chromodynamics on a space-time lattice. Finally the project aims to strengthen collaboration between the Centre for Computational Physics, Department of Physics, Universidade de Coimbra and Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica.
