The research aimed to evaluate the effect of melatonin on the expression of MPF proteins in rat; evaluate the effect of gonadotrophins added to in vitro maturation medium on the activity of melatonin forming enzymes (Aanat and Asmt) in rat; evaluate the effect of melatonin added to in vitro maturation medium on the maturation rates, expression of melatonin receptor, gonadotrophin and apoptosis genes in mares.
