Abstract

The aim of the project is to analyse rehabilitation techniques for timber structural members decayed, with analysis on case study for rehabilitation of the "Suspension Footbridge of Piracicaba". For the study a systematic literature survey of research conducted in Brazil and abroad, followed by research "in situ" and experimental tests were conducted in the laboratory. In the first step were investigated the major pathological manifestations, indicating a proposed methodology for nondestructive inspection technique (NDT) to assessments for timber structural members, with emphasis on the use of the Resistograph® IML-RESI-F500-S, and the second step consisted in the proposed rehabilitation techniques with nailed scabbing of the "Proposal 1", whose experimental results of beams subjected to static pure bending tests were adequate, with better technical and economic feasibility than "Proposal 2" complemented the reconstitution with epoxy structural adhesive in decayed regions in compressed zones in timber beams of "Eucalyptus Citriodora".
